As we progress on this journey, we need to establish a new and refreshed IT Asset Management backbone to our technology organisation in support of our transformation. You will play a key role in helping to shape and build the Software Acquisition capability within WPP's ITAM Function and will be responsible for operating elements within this practice, so that we are able to optimise our asset base and manage/reduce cost.


The ITAM function is responsible for deploying and enforcing best practice on the IT E2E asset lifecycle.


This is a hands-on role, responsible for the global acquisition and lifecycle management of software assets, demand forecasting and the operation of key controls.





What you'll be doing:



  • Reviewing new software demand and provide advice under the guardrails of published strategy, policy and standards

  • Identify contractual and compliance risks related to new software demand working with SAM, procurement and operational contract owners to drive risk reduction

  • Lead stakeholder engagements to establish internal business requirements, product roadmaps and document business justifications

  • Own the request management process for Software Asset Management. Monitor and respond to tickets in the mailbox and ServiceNow

  • Own and maintain the software catalogue and control availability of products, working with End User Compute, Infrastructure, Strategy and Architecture and Security

  • Development and deployment of software acquisition policies, processes, standards, and procedures

  • Development and deployment of a software acquisition lifecycle process inclusive of demand forecast and management, acquisition, stock management, end of life asset management

  • Responsible for software demand planning to ensure accurate budgetary planning

  • Identify software cost optimisation opportunities and work with stakeholders to achieve software savings

  • Lead a continuous improvement approach to operating Software Asset Demand Management in WPP





What you'll need:



  • Expertise in end-to-end Asset Lifecycle Management (acquisition/build to retirement/decommission)

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, finance or equivalent (i.e. MBA) desirable but not essential

  • Previous experience working in a Demand Management / Service Management / Software Asset Management

  • Previous experience working with Software Assets, ServiceNow SAM Pro or SAM tools

  • Expertise in end-to-end Asset Lifecycle Management (acquisition/build to retirement/decommission)

  • Expert analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret significant amounts of information accurately

  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure technologies; Network, Server, Storage and End User Computing and their maintenance and support contracts

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with IT asset management tools, ServiceNow SAM PRO module and CMDB

  • Expert communicator with a track record of operating, partnering with and influencing business stakeholders and ability to translate technical information to a non-technical audience

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced organizational transformation and able to navigate and champion change across organisational / geographical complexity

  • Excellent organizational skills: detail-oriented, thorough, dependable, and trustworthy, with a positive attitude

  • C- level stakeholder management
