Master Data Architect-global position

Your responsibilities

• You design and visualize BILSTEIN’s Master Data Management framework for key programs and technologies, including SAP, PLM, MES systems as well as associated interface system integrations and business intelligence solutions


• You understand our business needs, explore the existing IT-systems & data structure, and create a blueprint for building an integrated framework of easily accessible Master Data.


• You coordinate Master Data relevant aspects between relevant existing and new IT systems


• You translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses


• You design and adjust Master Data architecture if necessary as well as develop visualizations representing Key Data Elements and Entities with their relationships


• You utilize data architecture tools to fit the best way to BILSTEIN IT systems architecture


• You are responsible for clearing Master Data issues between systems


• You coordinate and support any Master Data related IT systems connections with involved departments like ITM and systems owners


• You are the first point of contact regarding upcoming questions regarding Master Data holding IT systems and architecture questions, concepts and projects


• You define data flows, i.e. which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition


• You have ownership of all documentations regarding Master Data related IT systems architectures


• You are in constant exchange with cross-functional teams (e.g. IT systems owners and Data Stewards), stakeholders and vendors


• You are able to train new employees all along the Master Data architecture and related IT systems


• You participate in Master Data assessments and provide Master Data IT systems and architecture evaluations


• You communicate clearly, simply, and effective

Your profile

• Previous experience as a Data Architect or Solutions Architect is essential


• Experience integrating data from disparate sources


• Experience in Agile development methodologies


• Proficiency in Data Governance practices and experience


• Experience designing business intelligence solutions


• The ability to gather requirements from IT and Business partners and to integrate into Master Data Framework


• Proficiency in data modelling and design, including SQL development and database administration


• SAP data base experience preferable


• Data mining, visualization, and Machine Learning skills


• Effective communication, team management, problem-solving, and leadership skills


• Experience and are comfortable working with autonomy and in an environment where there is constant interruptions


• Understanding of multicultural and diverse working environments - across continents, religions, local working practices, beliefs


• Experience in setting up architecture processes and implementing Master Data Governance


• Experience managing change to legacy architectures
